Description: This Longchenpa
Nyingtik Practice Manual
is the second
publication to be
produced by Khyentse
Foundation. The first
was Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche's
Commentary on Chandrakirti's Madhyamakavatara published
in 2003. Khyentse Foundation is
a non-profit organization
founded by Dzongsar
Khyentse Rinpoche in November
2001. Its core
purpose is to
establish a system of
patronage that supports
individuals and institutions engaged in the study and
practice of the Buddha's vision of wisdom
and compassion.
Publication of
precious texts such
as these providing
study material to assist dharma students around the world at low or no cost plays a
primary part in fulfilling that purpose.
As funds become available, the Foundation aims to sponsor the restoration
of the Khyentse Library in Dzongsar Institute in Tibet, which was severely destroyed
during the Chinese
Cultural Revolution in the
60s. and to
translate the teachings of four
great masters Longchenpa, Jigme
Lingpa, Jamyang Khyentse
Wangpo and Jamyang Khyentse
Chokyi Lodro. The Foundation has
four other primary
means of supporting
the dharma: The
Endowment Fund for Monastic Education;
Khyentse Foundation Scholarship
Fund; the establishment of a
chair or professorship in
Buddhist studies at
a major university; and
schools for children based
on Buddhist principles. These
five projects were created and prioritized by Khyentse Rinpoche.
